{"id":1354,"date":"2026-07-23T14:30:25","date_gmt":"2026-07-23T14:30:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ssas.org\/?page_id=1354"},"modified":"2026-07-23T14:30:25","modified_gmt":"2026-07-23T14:30:25","slug":"bus-rules","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ssas.org\/index.php\/bus-rules\/","title":{"rendered":"Bus Rules"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bus Rules <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#111111\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>It is the Responsibility of transported students to do the following:<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To occupy the seat assigned by the driver and remain seated while the bus is in motion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To observe classroom, conduct except for ordinary conversation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To obey the driver and attendant and report to the principal or designee when told to do so.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To cooperate with school patrols.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To warn the driver of approaching danger, if there is reason to believe the driver is not aware of the danger.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To be at the place designated, both morning and evening, ready to board the bus ten (10) minutes before it is scheduled to arrive. The bus cannot wait for those who are tardy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Always stay off the roadway while waiting for a bus and conduct themselves in an orderly manner.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To wait until the bus has come to a complete stop before attempting to get on or off.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To leave the bus only with the consent of the driver.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To cross the highway, if necessary, after leaving the bus in the following manner:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To wait at the side of the road within sight and hearing of the driver and wait for proper signal for crossing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To look both to the right and left and proceed across the highway in front of the bus\u2002upon signal from the driver.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To always keep all body parts inside the bus windows.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To be silent when approaching or crossing railroad tracks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To leave the bus by the emergency door only when told to do so by the driver, or in case of\u00a0an emergency that is life threatening.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To refrain from eating or drinking.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To refrain from smoking or vaping while on the bus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To board and leave the bus at their regular stop, unless by permission of transportation\u2002director or designee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To refrain from the use of profanity or abusive language on the bus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To refrain from carrying large objects, including band instruments that might interfere with seating and safety of others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Animals, snakes, frogs, reptiles and insects, glass containers, sharp objects, balls, bats, skateboards, cutting instruments, fireworks, and any other similar items are not allowed on the bus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any electronic devices such as cell phones, iPod, etc., should be put away and not be turned on when riding the bus.
