What are the uniform expectations?
Shirts
- Polo-style shirts with school logo in solid red, grey, or black, are required and may only be purchased at Children’s World.
- Only the school logo is permitted, no other embroidery, such as the student’s name is permitted.
- Shirts may be worn outside or tucked into uniform bottoms.
- Solid colored long sleeve undershirts/sweatshirts worn under the school polo are permitted during cold weather.
- For sanitary reasons, PE uniform shirts are not allowed to be worn under uniform shirts as an undershirt and hoodies may not be worn for PE class when the temperature is above 60 degrees.
- Shirts must be of the appropriate size, not small enough to show the midriff when arms are raised, or when the student is bending over or leaning forward.
- Students may not tie or cut their polo, PE, or spirit shirts.
- A school uniform polo shirt MUST be worn under the school uniform sweatshirt or school uniform hoodie at all times.
Shorts/Pants/Skirts
- School uniform bottoms must at least reach the top of the knee for modesty.
- The only acceptable bottoms are: Our SSA+S black uniform bottoms with a red paw print, which are sold only at Children’s World and are the only option for black bottoms. Khaki sturdy, cotton-blend, uniform-style, pleated chino or cargo bottom with front and rear pockets, knee-length or longer. No leggings, spandex, or technical fabric bottoms are allowed. Khakis are available at most stores, new and used, including Old Navy, Kohl’s, Target, Walmart, Gap, Children’s World, the Salvation Army, and Goodwill. Unacceptable bottoms include sheer, flimsy, silky, or athletic material as well as leggings, jeans, and jeggings.
- PE uniform shorts may only be worn during PE class.
- Miniskirts, ruffle style, skirts with slits, sweatpants and cutoffs are not permitted.
- Running/exercise shorts and boardshorts are not permitted.
- No pants, shorts, or skirts that are distressed, frayed, worn-out, or with holes above the knee are permitted.
- Thin, see-through, stretchy, or excessively tight/clingy fabrics may not be worn. “Jeggings,” legging pants, and sweatpants are not permitted.
- Oversized or low riding pants are not permitted. All uniform bottoms are to be hemmed and ride on or above the hipbones. Undergarments cannot be shown.
- No denim shorts, skirts, skorts, or jeans of any kind may be worn, except on Spirit Days. Plaid, multi-color, white, and brightly colored bottoms are not acceptable uniform/Spirit Day attire. If in doubt, check with an Administrator prior to wearing the items.
