Sample Agenda
DAY 1(MON-NOV 23)
5am departure from school aboard deluxe motorcoach. Restroom break in route. Arrive in
Tallahassee. Meet tour escorts at the New Capitol Building. Guided tour of the New Capitol
Building, including stops at the House and Senate chambers and ending on the 23rd floor observation
deck. Meet with your Legislator
(if avlb). Tour the Historic Old Capitol Building. Refurbished to it’s
1902 splendor when it housed the House & Senate Chambers, the Supreme Court, and the Governor’s
Office (William S. Jennings). Chic-Fil-A box lunch. Tour the Museum Of Florida History. The
museum is dedicated to Florida History and also features temporary exhibits from around the world.
Tour the Governor’s Mansion
(if avlb). The mansion was built in 1957 and is patterned after “The
Hermitage”, home of Andrew Jackson. Dinner at the FSU student dining hall. See the 3-D IMAX
Movie
“tba” at the Challenger Learning Center. Hotel check in at the Wyndham Gardens Hotel

DAY 2(TUE-NOV 24)
Check out of the hotel. Breakfast in the hotel. Buses will split up for tours. Travel to Wakulla
Springs. Enjoy a narrated boat cruise on the beautiful, unspoiled Wakulla River and learn about the
fragile environment of this wetland area. Box lunch from Honey Baked Ham. Tour the Gulf
Specimen Marine Laboratory. Students will be given a 2- hour guided tour conducted by marine
biologists including the aquarium and touch tanks explaining the animals and their habitats. Then
they will go down to the floating docks where students may observe barnacles feeding, grass shrimp
and nudibranchs foraging in the hydroids. Depart by 2:30pm. Fast food dinner stop in route. Return
to your school by 8:30pm.
