Dear SSA+S Parents, Guardians, and Students,

All Florida students will take several standardized tests over the course of April and May. With the Florida Standards Assessments (FSAs), students will be assessed in Writing, English, and Math (all grade levels – 6th, 7th, and 8th). In addition, there will be End of Course Exams (EOC’s) in Civics, Algebra, 8^th Grade Science, and Geometry. Please visit the FSA Portal www.fsassessments.org for more information.

On the testing days, we strive to create the most conducive testing environment possible – including the removing of all bells, maintaining silent hallways, and providing the students with light snacks. Please make every effort to have your child in school and on time for scheduled test days. The testing environment is ideal on the scheduled days; make up days are more stressful for our kids, as the students miss classes, incur make up work, and do not benefit from a consistently silent environment.

Your child’s teachers have prepared them well for these exams and we are sure that they will show growth and understanding; our goal is for every student to continuously improve, in a nurturing, low stress environment.
